Developing your own meditation practice will enhance your life by
helping you to relax, reduce stress, and focus on the important
things in your life. In addition to the spiritual benefits of peace
and tranquility, meditation, for as little as 20 minutes three times a
week, has been shown to lower blood pressure, strengthen the
cardiovascular and immune systems, improve concentration and
attention, as well as allows us to become better communicators. Do

Chel’s singular interest is in the health psychology field studying
mind-body-spirit integration. Her meditation practice has evolved
over a thirty year period, during which she has examined different
forms of meditation. Recently, Chel has modified her eight week
meditation program that imparts the flavor of the most recognized
meditation styles. Her philosophy is eclectic, combining examples
of East and West. Chel teaches similar meditation classes at
Midwest Counseling in Orland Park.
Chel Ferraro is an artist, writer, and doctoral student in
psychology. She holds a MA in clinical psychology, an MBA
from the University of Chicago. She is a certified Focusing
Teacher, a Reiki master/teacher and practitioner. She is trained
in EMDR and teaches at Columbia College Chicago. Her
dissertation is on Focusing and Chronic Pain. Chel combines
Reiki with Meditation, Guided Imagery, Focusing, and EMDR
in private practice.
